Five Meetings, One Partnership: How Frimpeks Chose the JUYOU CLS‑A8

There is a familiar observation in industrial sales: major cooperation is rarely concluded after a single meeting.

For high-value production equipment, customers need time to understand the supplier, inspect its manufacturing capability, evaluate the technology and confirm whether the proposed solution is suitable for their actual production requirements.

The cooperation between JUYOU and Frimpeks followed this process almost exactly.

From the first introduction at drupa in Germany to the final project discussion at the Frimpeks factory in Istanbul, the two companies met face to face five times before Frimpeks selected a JUYOU CLS-A8 Heavy-Duty Dual Shaft Slitter Rewinder.

Each meeting moved the project forward in a different way.

First Meeting — May 2024 | drupa, Germany

JUYOU first met the Frimpeks team at drupa 2024 in Germany.

During the exhibition, the Frimpeks engineering team learned about JUYOU’s slitter rewinder range, machine design and experience in demanding roll-to-roll production applications.

The equipment attracted the attention of Frimpeks Chief Engineer Mr. Mehmet and created the basis for further technical communication.

No equipment decision was made during this first meeting. Its value was in establishing the initial connection and giving the customer a reason to examine JUYOU’s capabilities more closely.

Second Meeting — July 2024 | JUYOU Factory, China

Following the exhibition, Mr. Mehmet travelled to China to visit the JUYOU factory.

This visit allowed Frimpeks to move beyond exhibition-level discussions and evaluate JUYOU’s manufacturing capability directly.

During the factory tour, he reviewed the production process, machine assembly, component selection, quality control and testing procedures. The two sides also began discussing the customer’s future equipment requirements in greater detail.

For an industrial machinery project, a factory visit is an important stage of supplier evaluation.

It allows the customer to see not only the finished machine, but also how it is manufactured, assembled and tested.

The second meeting therefore moved the relationship from initial interest to serious technical evaluation.

Third Meeting — May 2025 | Labelexpo Southeast Asia, Bangkok

The third face-to-face meeting took place at Labelexpo Southeast Asia in Bangkok.

Senior representatives from JUYOU and Frimpeks met to discuss the proposed equipment project and the next steps required for further technical evaluation.

By this stage, the discussion was no longer limited to general machine information. Both companies were beginning to align the technical and commercial direction of the project.

The meeting also brought the management teams into the decision-making process and prepared the way for a more detailed machine evaluation at the JUYOU factory.

Fourth Meeting — 29 May 2025 | JUYOU Factory, China

Later that month, Mr. Mehmet returned to the JUYOU factory together with Frimpeks Group CEO Mr. Semih.

This fourth meeting became one of the most important technical stages of the project.

During the visit, the Frimpeks team observed the machine in operation and examined JUYOU’s new fully automatic knife positioning system.

The live demonstration allowed the customer to evaluate the system’s positioning speed, accuracy and practical operating process directly, rather than relying only on specifications or presentations.

Mr. Mehmet noted that the speed and precision of the system had reached the level of leading European solutions.

The Frimpeks team observed the machine in operation and evaluated JUYOU’s fully automatic knife positioning system.

The visit also gave both teams an opportunity to discuss how the CLS-A8 could be configured according to the customer’s production requirements.

By seeing the machine, control system and automatic knife positioning process in person, the Frimpeks team was able to verify several of the technical capabilities discussed during the previous meetings.

The fourth meeting helped transform the project from a general equipment discussion into a more clearly defined technical solution.

Fifth Meeting — 4 August 2025 | Istanbul, Turkey

The fifth meeting took place at the Frimpeks factory in Istanbul.

This time, the JUYOU team entered the customer’s own production environment.

Visiting the factory allowed JUYOU to better understand the site conditions, production expectations and practical requirements that would influence the final machine solution.

The two teams held a detailed meeting to review the proposed configuration and discuss the direction of the CLS-A8 project.

The fifth meeting brought the equipment discussion into Frimpeks’ actual production environment.

This stage was important because industrial equipment cannot be evaluated only from the supplier’s side.

Understanding the customer’s factory, production process and expectations helps the machine manufacturer develop a more appropriate solution and reduce uncertainty before the project is finalized.

Following the factory discussion, both teams continued their exchange over dinner.

By this point, the cooperation had developed through repeated technical communication, two customer visits to the JUYOU factory, direct machine evaluation and a detailed discussion inside the Frimpeks production site.

The two companies subsequently reached a preliminary cooperation agreement.

Five face-to-face meetings gradually developed the project from an initial introduction into a shared equipment plan.

What Each Meeting Added to the Project

The five meetings were not repetitions of the same conversation.

Each meeting answered a different question in the customer’s decision-making process.

The first meeting introduced Frimpeks to JUYOU and its slitter rewinder range.

The second allowed the customer to inspect JUYOU’s manufacturing process and quality system.

The third aligned the direction of the project at management level.

The fourth provided direct technical validation through machine operation and the automatic knife positioning demonstration.

The fifth allowed JUYOU to understand the customer’s real production environment and complete the equipment discussion at the customer’s factory.

Together, these stages reduced uncertainty and gave both companies a clearer understanding of the proposed cooperation.

From Technical Evaluation to a CLS-A8 Project

Following this process, Frimpeks selected a JUYOU CLS-A8 Heavy-Duty Dual Shaft Slitter Rewinder.

The CLS-A8 is designed for demanding slitting and rewinding applications requiring a robust machine structure, stable tension control, flexible configuration and a high level of automation.

For Frimpeks, the decision was not based on one presentation or one machine demonstration.

It was the result of repeated communication, factory inspections, technical verification, management-level discussions and a growing understanding between the two companies.

Engineering Takeaway

Major industrial equipment projects are rarely decided by a single specification sheet or sales meeting.

Customers need to understand not only what a machine can do, but also how it is manufactured, how its technology performs in practice and whether the supplier can understand and support the application over the long term.

The JUYOU–Frimpeks project developed through five face-to-face meetings across Germany, China, Thailand and Turkey.

Each meeting added another layer of technical understanding and mutual trust.

For JUYOU, the final decision was not the end of the process. It marked the beginning of a long-term technical partnership built through communication, verification and a shared commitment to the project.
